June 3rd, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Basketball,Charity | 1 Comment
Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest has spent $18,000 on tickets for Los Angeles Lakers fans. So, how many tickets does $18,000 get you? Apparently only two.
Ron Ron bought two $9,000 courtside seats for two lucky fans that won the tickets through local radio station Power 106.
TMZ spoke to Ron who said this about the giveaway, “Most of my fans can’t afford the ticket prices to come to any of the games, let alone the Finals. I wanted to treat a fan to something they would normally never have access to, so they could feel like one of the stars for the night.”
Ron added, “I feel like just a regular person at the end of the day, and I wanted to be able to share my first Finals experience with one of my regular fans.”
Nice move Ron!

“Usually I always tell him what to do, but I just told him to go ahead and do it, and he did what he had to do,” Artest told the Los Angeles Times of his barber. “No meaning in it.”

Ron Artest Attends UCLA’s Zeta Beta Tau’s Rush
April 9th, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Basketball | No Comments
You never know where Ron Artest will turn up next! The Los Angeles Laker forward attended UCLA’s Zeta Beta Tau’s recruitment event on Monday, April 5th.
The basketball player attended the event because the fraternity won a fraternity-wide competition in February by selling the most tickets to a Los Angeles D-Fenders game. The winning fraternity’s grand prize was to have Ron Artest at their rush for a meet and greet.
“It was mellow but still fun,” Artest said. “I enjoyed myself, and they enjoyed themselves.”
The fraternity is coming off of a year-long social probation that resulted in their lower than average number of fall recruits, so the Artest presence provided a boost in rushees. Approximately 130 rushees attended the event with five accepting bids.

Ron Artest has signed a deal to star in his own reality TV show called “They Call Me Crazy.” The Hollywood Reporter reports that the new show will be produced by E1 Entertainment and Tijuana Entertainment.
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to invite people into my world to see the real me, and show them there are many more sides to the Ron Artest they see on the basketball court,” Artest said in a statement. “This show will allow me to share my experiences with others, and hopefully people can learn from the mistakes I’ve made.”
No word yet on when filming begins but Laker fans better hope it’s not until the season ends…
