Manchester United player Anderson was dragged from his burning $200,000 Audi after it crashed into a wall in a rural area of Portugal. Anderson, 22, had spent the night at a nightclub prior to the accident which occurred at 7 am. He is now in the midst of a police investigation due to the circumstances leading up to the crash. Anderson had 3 people in his 2-seater Audi, which could lead to charges in addition to possible drunk driving charges. He was with a friend and a young Brazilian woman, and it’s unclear who was driving. All three were taken to the hospital and released the next morning after being treated for minor injuries, despite the fact Anderson was said to have been unconscious when he was pulled from the car. Anderson has been gaining a reputation for partying a lot, and this event won’t be looked well upon by United coach Sir Alex Ferguson. Anderson is supposed to be recovering from a knee injury he sustained before the World Cup.
