Jets Uncorked

The New York Jets announced in June that they would be releasing a commemorative wine called Jets Uncorked, well, it’s arrived!

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon was created to help the team celebrate the opening of the New Meadowlands Stadium. Members of the Jets organization went to Napa Valley in California and scouted eight wineries before selecting veteran winemaker Marco DiGiulio.

The wine was made solely for the Jets, and is priced at $27.99 and can be purchased on the New York Jets website. Marco said about 8,000 cases were made, and several Manhattan restaurants, such as Nobu carry the exclusive wine. The wine is also on shelves at 250 stores in New York area.

The black label pictured above includes silver block letters and also displays a drawing of an actual play run by the Jets in a game.

Very cool! This would make for a great gift for the Jets fan in your life!

New Phil Jackson Book “Journey To The Ring”

Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson has collaborated with the NBA’s director of photography Andrew Bernstein for a new book, “Journey to the Ring.”

The book, published by Time Capsule Press offers a behind-the-scenes look into the 2009-10 season, starting with the first day of training camp in September to the many road trips to the celebratory victory parade in June.

Andrew captures some of the league’s big name stars including Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher. All the pictures are in black-and-white and Phil wrote the introduction and all the picture captions.
