June 16th, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Golf,Sports Date of the Week | 2 Comments
For this weeks Sports Date Of The Week find a local miniature golf course near you and take your guy! No matter what stage you are in your relationship, this is a really fun date.
Miniature golf offers a great setting for a flirtatious and active outing. Our suggestion, make a bet on who will do best and the winner gets a drink!
Did you know that there is a World Minigolf Sports Federation? The WMF is the umbrella organization of minigolf sports associations worldwide and continental associations in Asia, Europe and America. They also organize world championships every year for youth and elite players.
Have fun!
Sports Date Of The Week: Soccer Time!
June 9th, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Soccer,Sports Date of the Week | 1 Comment
The World Cup begins this week and there are some great soccer games this weekend. For this weeks Sports Date OF The Week, take your guy to an English pub/bar in your area and watch the USA vs. England game on Saturday. In that type of environment, it’s bound to be a great time.
An interesting stat for the game: the two teams have played eachother nine times with England taking seven of those games. In those nine games a whopping 43 goals have been scored, which is a lot!
Team USA has nothing to lose with this match, we think they’ll come out strong but there’s a lot of pressure on England since their departure from the last World Cup was a huge disappointment. Team USA will need big performances from Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey. Goalkeeper Tim Howard will also be a key player.
Team England is missing their captain, Rio Ferdinand and will be looking to Wayne Rooney, Ledley King and John Terry to lead the way. England won all three of their friendlies.
Go Team USA!
USA vs. England on Saturday, June 12th at 11:30am PST
Sports Date Of The Week: Just Wright

Hey Ladies! For this week’s Sports Date of the Week, we recommend you the lucky guy in your life to see the new movie Just Wright!
The central basketball theme should keep your guys interested (guest appearances by Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard, ESPN analyst Jalen Rose, Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade and Philadelphia 76ers’ Elton Brand) plus it’s a romantic comedy, what’s not to love?
The film features Common who plays New Jersey Nets (fictional) basketball star Scott McKnight who meets physical therapist, Leslie Wright (played by diva Queen Latifah) who introduces him to his future fiancee Morgan Alexander (played by Paula Patton). Well, Scott gets injured, his fiancee leaves him and Leslie is there to get him back into shape and sparks begin to fly. But what happens when Morgan comes back into the picture? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out!

Sports Date of the Week

It’s a well known fact that most men love boxing. Why not surprise the man in your life (or the man you want to be in your life!) with a date he’ll love? HBO pay-per-view is offering a match-up of two of the best boxers out there right now. Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., six-time World Champion, is boxing Shane “Sugar” Mosley, the current WBA welterweight champion in Las Vegas. With the two being considered two of the top three boxers regardless of weight, (Manny Pacquiao is in the mix, too.) the match-up has generated a lot of hype for not being a title bout.
The fight is scheduled to air at 6 p.m. PT, and you can either stay in to watch it, or head out to one of the 250 movie theaters across the nation that are showing the fight.

Want to plan a date that your man will love? Here it is.
HBO is set to debut their much anticipated documentary on the rivalry of two of the greatest basketball players ever. Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals will premiere this Saturday on HBO. Our suggestion? Cook him his favorite meal (or order-in from his favorite restaurant) and surprise him with a screening of the HBO documentary.
It’s been getting rave reviews and showcases some very compelling topics: Magic’s womanizing ways, the suicide of Bird’s father and the dynamic rivalry that reinvigorated the NBA.
Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals premieres Saturday March 6th at 8pm on HBO.
