Stella McCartney Unveils New British Olympic Team Uniforms

March 22nd, 2012 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Fashion,Olympics | No Comments

Stella McCartney unveiled the outfits to be worn by Olympians competing for Great Britain, at a gala event at the Tower of London. Olympians who will be competing from a heptathlete and rowing champion to a Paralympic swimmer modeled the designs.

McCartney is serving as Adidas’ creative director for the Summer Games, and with her creations she hopes to “unify the team.” She used the British flag, breaking it up and using it in various elements of the outfits.

She incorporated technology into the creations, taking the concerns of the athlete above any fashion statements.

Clothing modeled at the event included competition uniforms, training wear, a presentation suit, footwear and accessories.

Anna Kournikova Covers Russian Magazine

Former tennis star and Biggest Loser trainer Anna Kournikova covered the Russian magazine Tatler this month. For the cover photo, Kournikova is sporting a Bottega Veneta swimsuit and loads of accessories, make-up, and probably some airbrushing too (not that she needs it.) The styling feels overdone, but we’re loving some of the playful looks featured inside the magazine. Kournikova got decked out in clothing from Fendi, Prada and Anna Sui, with jewelry and accessories by Lorrain Schwartz, Kenneth Jay Lane, and Chopard. Check out the photos below:

January 4th, 2012 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Fashion,Hotties,Soccer | 1 Comment

We told you a little less than a year ago about David Beckham‘s plans to launch his own underwear line. Now, we have new details about that project!

The David Beckham Bodywear line will be debuting in February 2012 at worldwide retailer H&M. Lucky for us, Beckham has opted to model all of his own designs and we found the first photos of the new line.

Beckham told the Telegraph, “The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally. In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward, I’m excited and looking forward to showcasing the range to H&M customers from February.”

Becks decided to leave out any overt branding on the products to, “‘present a range of new classics, comprising of briefs, boxers, vests, T-shirts, pyjamas and long johns.” H&M has stated this is only the first of many collaborations between the retailer and soccer stud.

Happy Valentine’s Day to us! Here’s more photos from the line:

Shaquille O’Neal Was Denied Entrance To A NY Club Due To Attire

November 17th, 2011 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Basketball,Fashion | No Comments

When Baron Davis’ documentary on the decline of men’s fashion is released, Shaquille O’Neal should watch it and take notes.

The retired NBA star wasn’t allowed into Mars 2112 in New York City over the weekend because his attire wasn’t up to the club’s standards, according to TMZ. Shaq was sporting jeans, a sweatshirt, tennis shoes, and a beanie. After being notified he wouldn’t be able to get in, he said “Are you serious?” then just shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

He wasn’t with his girlfriend at the time, but as you can see from the picture above of the couple out and about she apparently can’t get him to dress a little better.

Baron Davis Making Documentary About Decline Of Men’s Fashion

November 17th, 2011 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Basketball,Fashion,Movies | 2 Comments

Baron Davis found something he’s passionate about that will take up his time during the lockout and it involves men’s fashion. More specifically, Davis is taking aim at the decline of men’s style in the U.S. by developing a documentary on the subject. The Cavaliers guard is calling the film “American Schlub.”

“We used to be fashion forward,” Davis told the Wall Street Journal. Now, he says, “We’re more of a sweats and Ugg boots type of society. We wanted to challenge men, from that perspective.”

The documentary is currently in pre-production. Davis has produced four movies in the past, including a documentary about the Bloods & Crips.

Stay tuned for a release date. We’re pretty excited to watch this film. The decline of men’s fashion is something we could make some comments on, too.
