Jamie McCourt Hires Famed Trial Lawyer

Jamie McCourt has added famed trial lawyer David Boies to the team of attorney’s representing her in her divorce from Los Angeles Dodger owner Frank McCourt.

Jamie and Frank both want ownership of the storied dodger franchise. The core issue for trial will be the validity of a post-nuptial agreement that Frank and Jamie signed in 2004, granting him sole ownership of the Dodgers and other business assets and granting her sole ownership of the couple’s residential properties.

Boies is expected to help Jamie McCourt evaluate how best to challenge the post-nuptial agreement.

Boies is best known for representing presidential nominee Al Gore before the U.S. Supreme Court immeditately following the 2000 presidential election. His past clients include George Steinbrenner, NASCAR and American Express.

Battle of the Memoirs: Andre Agassi vs. Brooke Shields

Brooke Shields announced that she will be penning a memoir in which she will give her side of what went on during her marriage to tennis champ Andre Agassi.

Agassi disclosed details of their marriage in his tell-all book Open. In an interview for the April issue of Ladies Home Journal, Shields addresses an excerpt from Agassi’s book:

Agassi wrote that he became incensed when he was on the set of “Friends” the day Shields — in a guest-starring role in which she stalks Matt LeBlanc’s character, Joey — was required to lick LeBlanc’s hand. In Agassi’s account, he said he rushed back to their house and smashed his Wimbledon trophies. Shields expressed anger that the story ended there.

“Does he mention I spent the next three years replicating those trophies? He doesn’t say that, does he? Of course not. That’ll be in my book!”

It’ll be interesting to see what other details Shields book will reveal. There are two sides to every story!

Iverson’s Wife files for Divorce

Allen Iverson’s wife, Tawanna Iverson filed for divorce from the NBA player at an Atlanta Court on Tuesday, ending her 8 1/2 year marriage according to multiple media sources. Tawanna said in the petition that her marriage is “irretrievably broken.” She is asking for custody of their five children along with alimony and child support.

It’s been a rough month for Iverson who announced he was taking the rest of the season off to be with his 4-year old daughter who is suffering from an undisclosed illness. Iverson posted on his Twitter account recently: “I need to be there to hold my little girl’s hand and encourage her to get better. I wanted her to wake up every morning and see her Daddy’s face, at least until she got better. Through God’s Strength, She Will Keep Getting Better!”

Welcome Baby Gibson

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson and his fiancee singer Keyshia Cole welcomed their first child today. They named the boy Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr. Baby Gibson was born Tuesday night at 11:54pm, weighing in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

Keyshia’s rep states “both mom and baby are doing great.”

Congrats to the newest addition to the Gibson family!

Yao Ming and Wife are Expecting!

Yao Ming and fellow basketball player Ye Li are expecting a baby girl in July. The 7’6″ center for the Houston Rockets has been sidelined this season with a broken left foot and recently returned to the United States with his wife, sparking speculation that the baby will not be born in their native country, China.

Scientists are already predicting that the baby will grow to be 6’2″, the same height as it’s mother.
