Clayton And Ellen Kershaw Launch New Book

Left-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw and his wife Ellen held a press conference yesterday at Dodger Stadium to launch their book, Arise. The book chronicles the couples trip to Zambia where Clayton and Ellen along with the organization, Arise Africa are building an orphanage.

“Look where we are now. We’re at Dodger Stadium talking about a book,” Clayton said at the presee conference. “There’s something to be said for that. I think that’s a platform for us. Ellen and I were talking about how awesome it is to have baseball for other things. That’s sort of the whole purpose.”

Like another very popular athlete right now, Clayton and Ellen are devout Christians and share their experiences with faith and giving to others in the new book. You can order the book here.

Lindsay Davenport Is A Mom Again!

Tennis star Lindsay Davenport and her husband, Jonathan Leach, welcomed their third child. a little girl on Monday, January 16th.

Lindsay posted the exciting news on her Twitter feed saying, “We are so excited to say our third child arrived this a.m.,” and described the new edition as “a big, beautiful, healthy baby girl … 10 lbs!!! Everyone is doing great.”

The couple have yet to pick out a name for their newborn daughter. Lindsay and Jonathan have two other children, Jaggar Jonathan (4 1/2 years old) and Lauren Andrus (2 1/2 years old).

Katy Perry’s Mother Wants To Set Daughter Up With Tim Tebow

From Russell Brand to…Tim Tebow?

After her highly publicized split from actor Russell Brand, Katy Perry’s mother is already keeping her eye out for potential suitors for her pop star daughter. OK! magazine is reporting that Mary Hudson, Perry’s mother, hopes to introduce her daughter to the Broncos quarterback and devout Christian. According to the magazine, Hudson said that, “Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter. He’s handsome, charming, intelligent and above all, a good Christian.”

Katy Perry may not be so innocent now, but she started out as a Christian singer and both her parents are pastors.

Tebow was last romantically linked to Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, according to rumors, shortly after her divorce. However, Vonn insisted the two were just friends.

Cleveland Indians Slugger Engaged To Playmate

Cleveland Indians slugger Grady Sizemore recently proposed to his girlfriend, Playboy Playmate Brittany Binger.

Sizemore, who has a strong following of fans in “Grady’s Ladies,” proposed on Christmas Day. Sizemore signed a one-year contract with the Indians in November.

A date for the wedding has not been set but Kendra Wilkinson, who is friends with Binger, is already thinking about the bachelorette party. She tweeted, “be careful I might get female strippers 4ur Bachelorette party n have them dance 2 @50cent on u” < OMG!”

Elin Nordegren Donating Parts Of Demolished Mansion To Habitat For Humanity

We reported last week that Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren had the $12 million home she purchased demolished in order to a build a new one from scratch. The builder of the new home, talking to People magazine, cleared up the reasoning behind the demolition: the home was not built to code to withstand Florida hurricanes.

Another problem with the home was discovered when Nordegren allowed Habitat for Humanity to go through and salvage “tens of thousands of dollars” worth of cabinets, fixtures, and hardware. A carpenter-ant and termite infestation was found in the cabinets and walls of the home. A spokesman for Habitat for Humanity involved in the salvaging said, “When we pulled out the windows, the bugs were everywhere,. To rebuild that house would have been ridiculous. We’re so grateful to Elin. It’s rare we get this kind of donation.”

Athlete Sighting: A-Rod Chats With Cindy Crawford At Lakers Game

Alex Rodriguez was spotted at Staples Center last night for the Lakers vs Rockets game, sitting courtside with some other familiar faces. A-Rod and his new girlfriend, Playboy model and retired WWE wrestler Torrie Wilson, were on a double date with Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber.

The two couples chatted, laughed, and snapped a picture of themselves on Crawford’s blinged-out iPhone. A-Rod looked sharp in his leather jacket and glasses. He and Wilson started dating about a month ago, when photographers snapped them riding bikes in Miami.

Johnny Weir Tied The Knot!

Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir announced via Twitter he is now a married man. Weir married his boyfriend, Viktor Voronov, on Dec. 30 in a civil ceremony at the New York City Courthouse. According to Weir’s rep, the couple exchanged handwritten vows in the company of their parents.

Voronov, a Georgetown Law graduate, said in a statement, “Getting married to Johnny has been the greatest experience of my life. He is the most wonderful, caring and nurturing person – and I can be guaranteed of one thing – with Johnny, I will never be bored. The support from my friends and family has been overwhelming and I am looking forward to beginning my life with the most incredible person I have ever known.”

Weir said in his statement, “Marrying Victor has been the greatest moment in my life and I will work very hard to make him proud and happy…I look forward to making a home for my family in Bergen County, New Jersey, and introducing my world of glitter and Faberge eggs to Victor.” Weir went on, “Our road to marriage has been a fast one, but one I never waivered on. I am honored to have been married in the great state of New York, and I hope more states pass laws allowing all Americans to be united through love and marriage.”

The couple plan on having a large wedding in July 2012.

Derek Jeter Back With Minka Kelly?

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, pictured above with former flame Minka Kelly last summer, was spotted this weekend in Paris with the actress and the two looked ‘very much together’ according to reports.

The former couple strolled through Le Musée d’Orsay and had brunch at a Parisian hotel but according to reports were staying separately. The two split in August after three years together. Kelly, who was named the “Sexiest Woman Alive” in 2010 by Esquire, can be seen on TV’s ‘Charlies Angels.’

LeBron James Popped The Question On New Years Eve

Miami Heat star LeBron James proposed to longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson on New Years Eve in front of several friends and family including Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Chris Bosh, Adrienne Williams, and his two sons and mother. The group of around 60 people were there not only to celebrate the new year but James’ 27th birthday which was on Friday.

James, Wade and Bosh were chosen to do the countdown at the Shelbourne South Beach hotel in Miami. Afterwards, the group returned to the restaurant where they were dining in the hotel and James popped the question by dropping to one knee. Brinson of course said yes.

James wasn’t the only one who got some bling that night. His birthday cake was reportedly decked out with Swarovski crystals and edible 18 carat gold. Later in the evening, the group was treated to a performance by Lauryn Hill who pulled Nas up on the stage to perform “If I Ruled the World.”

No word yet on how many carats are in Brinson’s ring.

Hank Baskett Hired As Wife’s New Assistant

The Baskett family, like the rest of the nation, is cutting back on expenses. After Hank was not offered a contract to come back for the Minnesota Vikings, Hank Baskett and wife Kendra Wilkinson decided to make some changes.

According to Star magazine, Wilkinson decided to fire her longtime assistant, Eddie Bochniak and replace him with free labor: her husband, Hank. The former Girls Next Door star has kept busy between her own show on E!, writing a book about her life, and raising the couple’s two-year old son.
