The Internet and basketball fans were abuzz last night over Blake Griffins‘ dunk on Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins. The dunk was reminiscent of his other best in-game dunk which he slammed down last year on then-Knicks center Timofey Mizgov.

Even LeBron James tipped his hat to Griffin. He tweeted, “Dunk of the Year!! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!! Wow!! I guess I’m #2 now. Move over #6″

Miami Heat star LeBron James did his part to go green, at least for one day.

James rode his bike to American Airlines arena ahead of the Heat vs Bulls game last night. Traffic in the area was worsened by the Miami marathon, so James had two of his associates accompany him to the arena on two wheels instead of four.

The Heat beat their Eastern conference rivals 97-93, and James scored a game-high 35 points. Could it have been the power of the pedal?

At the top of the highest earning franchise list is the Los Angeles Lakers, who stole the top spot from the New York Knicks. The Lakers’ 20-year TV deal with Time Warner Cable worth $200 million a year upped their value to an NBA high of $900 million.

The Knicks come in at No. 2 with a current value of $780 million.

At the bottom of the list? The Milwaukee Bucks, who are valued at $268 million but operate on a negative income.

Overall, the NBA’s TV ratings increased last year by over 50%.

It seems obvious that Vanessa Bryant would be the basketball wife most sought by Vh1′s “Basketball Wives” producers. So, why is Vh1 reportedly prepared to make a major pitch for Vanessa now?

Well, TMZ is reporting that now that Vanessa has split from Kobe, she may be more receptive to the idea. Plus, the show has a larger budget now that it’s one of the network’s highest rated shows. Vh1 is preparing an “extremely lucrative pitch” for Vanessa to come on the show as a recurring character.

Let’s be honest though, Vanessa won’t exactly be strapped for cash after the divorce and will likely turn down any offers from the network.

Steve Nash may play basketball in Arizona, but he doesn’t want people to forget he spent most of his life in the Canadian snow. So, in light of the upcoming Winter X Games, Nash made an attempt to convince event officials to let him enter the competition.

Nash teamed up with sponsor Vitaminwater to film a comedic attempt at the “most epic snowboard trick ever.” Check it out.

Now that Chris Paul is a Clipper, he can call Los Angeles home. According to TMZ, the Clippers star is very close to doing just that. Paul is reportedly very close to buying his own Bel Air mansion.

The home, which is located in the private Bel Air Crest community, is being sold by pop star Avril Lavigne. The $8.5 million mansion is complete with 8 bedrooms, 10.5 baths, a wine cellar, a 10-car garage, a gym, sauna, and covered outdoor living room.

Before Lavigne resided in the home, Travis Barker and his ex Shanna Moakler lived in the home. Their reality show, “Meet the Barkers” was filmed in the home, so it’s got some real Hollywood history.

Blake Griffin‘s popularity in the NBA is no secret, but his popularity just got an extra boost. Panini America just announced that last week they sold a 2009-10 National Treasures Blake Griffin trading card for $38,032. The national treasure card came with an NBA Logoman patch from one of Griffins’ game-used jerseys, and Griffin’s autograph.

The final price of the card is one of the highest prices paid for a modern-era basketball card. Rob Springs,  a Senior Market Analyst for Dallas-based Beckett media, which Panini America recognizes as the leader in sports card valuations, said, “High-end basketball cards still have as much, or more, potential than any other sport, in my opinion.  There is just such a broad range of collecting bases and money from the NBA being a truly global game.  There are high-end basketball collectors in America, Australia, Japan, Europe, etc., and that really helps to drive the top-end of the basketball market.”

Not everyone gets to sing along on stage with rapper Rick Ross at their 30th birthday party, but it was just another night in Miami Beach for Heat star Dwyane Wade.

Wade celebrated his 30th birthday at the Setai hotel along with a who’s-who of rappers and celebrities. LeBron James, Udonis Haslem, Wade and Rick Ross had some fun on stage before Wade cut into his huge birthday cake. Kelly Rowland and Wade’s girlfriend Gabrielle Union looked on with Udonis Haslem and LeBron James.

Some of the other celebrities in attendance included: rapper Fat Joe, DJ Irie, Flo Rida, T.I. and wife Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle, Common, and Tracy Mourning. Teammates Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers were also there to celebrate.
