Athlete Quote Of The Day: Steve Nash
December 13th, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Athlete QOTD,Basketball,Soccer | No CommentsPhoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash took to his Twitter account recently to give his thoughts on Qatar being named the host of the 2022 World Cup. Here’s what the two-time MVP player had to say:
“No beer in Qatar? No Canadians going! The bribe must have been large to outbid Budweiser’s sponsorship.”
Well said Steve. Couldn’t agree more. A dry World Cup? No thank you!

Athlete Quote Of The Day: Tracy McGrady
November 29th, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Athlete QOTD,Basketball | No CommentsDetroit Pistons star player Tracy McGrady was asked recently about his thoughts on the Miami Heat superstars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, and here’s what he told the New York Daily News:
“…Both of those guys need the ball and they don’t shoot the ball like Ray Allen. That’s why they’re having trouble scoring in the half court because they can’t get a rhythm, because one of them is dominating the ball. That guy might be getting off, but the other guy (isn’t).
“That’s why when they’re on the court together, they’re terrible. They’re rhythm players that need the ball. I’m like that. I can’t stand out there and catch and shoot. I’ve never been a guy that sits out there waiting for the ball to come to me.”

Athlete Quote Of The Day: Carmelo Anthony Says He’s “Just Like LeBron”
November 16th, 2010 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Athlete QOTD,Basketball | 1 CommentCarmelo Anthony shed a little light onto what he’s learned from this past pre-season’s trades and how he is going to handle his free agency. He related himself to LeBron James, while promising not to leave his team hanging. Here is what he told reporters in the locker room following Saturday’s practice,
“I’m just like LeBron. It’s all about winning. That’s all I care about. I want the chance to compete at the championship level. All the other stuff is irrelevant. I’m not Chris Bosh. We’re not the same person. What I do will be straight up. Management knows that.”

Athlete Quote Of The Day: Gary Peyton On Kobe Vs. LeBron
November 3rd, 2010 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Athlete QOTD,Basketball,Football,TV | No CommentsTwo-time Olympic gold medalist, notorious trash talker, and NBA veteran Gary “The Glove” Peyton joined Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco on the air during Tuesday night’s T.Ocho Show on Versus. Ochocinco asked him, “You think LeBron can win a championship as long as Kobe is in the league?” And this was his response,
“I don’t think so. Kobe is the best basketball player in the NBA right now. People might disagree with me, but I’ve played with both of them. Kobe is the clutch player. He can do it whenever he wants to. I think he’s just a player that, you know, you can get a ball to with 3 seconds to go and he’ll hit it. I’m not saying LeBron wont do that but I’m just saying I think Kobe is more of a shooter than he is right now, and I’d just put him #1, LeBron #2 and D. wade #3.”
