Walt Frazier’s Rockin’ Steady

November 23rd, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Basketball,Books

We were lucky enough to attend a book signing with basketball legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier this past weekend at ESPN Zone at LA Live.

Walt signed copies of the latest edition of his 1974 book, Rockin’ Steady: A Guide to Basketball & Cool. Walt collaborated with New York Times sportswriter Ira Berkow on a book that has become an iconic and much-sought-after piece of basketball history. The book is being re-released just in time for the holidays and including an all-new introduction written by another basketball legend, Bill Russell.

“Rockin’ Steady is a book about my philosophy on basketball, life, fashion and fitness,” Walt told us. The book also provides an insight into Walt’s grooming secrets, wardrobe tips, instructions for snatching flies out of midair, picking the right girl and purchasing a Rolls-Royce!

And of course we couldn’t leave without getting Walt’s thoughts on the game today, “Young fans are able to see the evolution of the game. It’s more about entertainment today, but in order to be a championship you have to focus on defense and team work.”

This is a great holiday gift for basketball fans in your life! You can purchase the book here.
