Red Bull and Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo are looking to capitalize on the Celtics post-season success. The Boston Celtics advanced to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years after beating the Orlando Magic last week.
Rondo, who signed a deal with Red Bull a year ago, but has barely been used by the beverage company. Last year, Rondo arrived to a playoff game in the Red Bull stock car.
Red Bull never discusses their upcoming campaigns, but a company insider told CNBC’s Darren Rovell, “Red Bull looks for rising stars who have potential for greatness and Rondo met that criteria. He’s now fulfilling that potential that Red Bull saw in him.”
Red Bull also has deals with Philadelphia Phillies baseball player Jimmy Rollins, New Orleans Saints Super Bowl champ Reggie Bush and Olympians Shaun White and Lindsey Vonn.
Rondo has a deal with Nike and has done some local endorsement work with Dunkin’ Donuts.
