Los Angeles Laker Matt Barnes Arrested For Felony Domestic Violence Allegations

Basketball player Matt Barnes who was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers over the summer has been arrested and released on a felony domestic violence charge.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran said deputies responded to an incomplete 911 call from the 8100 block of Sunset Avenue at about 4:15 p.m., where they encountered Matt and a woman “who lived with him and with whom he had a dating relationship.”
Both parties had visible injuries but Matt was determined to be the primary aggressor, Curran said.
Matt is also being charged with maliciously obstructing the use of a telephone line. He posted a $50,000 bond and was released shortly before 9:40 p.m. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Our guess is that the woman involved is his on-again, off-again fiance Gloria Govan. The couple have twin boys. Gloria and Matt both appeared on the first season of the VH1 reality show, Basketball Wives. Rumors swirled last month that the couple had called off their wedding.
Matt posted on his Twitter account late this evening, “DON’T LET YOUR EARS WITNESS, WHAT YOUR EYES DIDN’T SEE!!!” He also sent a text message to a local Sacramento television reporter stating “U know any domestic violence situation 9 outa 10 times the man gets arrested. That’s the case here I was the victim but still got arrested. No matter what I say people are gonna think what they want…”
