Little League Pitcher Gets Her Jersey Sent To Cooperstown
August 13th, 2010 | Posted by Leah Hollar in Awards,Baseball
13-year-old Chelsea Baker, who we mentioned before is known as the best pitcher in Little League after having pitched two perfect games, will be sending her jersey to the Hall of Fame. The jersey will be on the second floor in the Diamond Dreams exhibit, which showcases contributions by women to the sport. From Florida, Chelsea Baker was taught how to pitch, specifically how to throw a killer “knuckleball” by the late MLB veteran Joe Niekro who passed away in 2006. Amidst a League that consists of all boys, Chelsea Baker has proven to any doubting individual that girls can throw better than boys if they have the natural talent and training.
