Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs The Official Dog Of Los Angeles?

September 3rd, 2010 | Posted by Queen of Sports in Baseball,Charity,Food

Local food company Farmer John has teamed up with Los Angeles Dodger and self-proclaimed foodie Andre Ethier to launch a campaign to make the Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog the Official Hot Dog of Los Angeles.

Yesterday, Ethier kicked off a whistle stop tour to rally the people to sign the petition at Vote LA Hot Dog and in return, for every signature collected in support of the Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog, Farmer John will make a donation — up to 25,000 pounds — to local food banks.

“From the amazing people to world-class food, I love everything about the great city of Los Angeles,” said Andre. “That is why I chose to partner with Farmer John on its campaign to make the Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog an official part of our city’s history, while at the same time, providing food to people who need it the most.”

    NEWS ALERT:

NEWS: “Los Angeles Dodger caught promoting Los Angeles advertising campaign of Farmer John corporation’s potentially contaminated “Bacon-wrapped HotDog:” as “official hot dog of LA” and facilitating the human and child ingestion of meat products found unfit for human consumption”

Los Angeles Dodger Andre Ethier has been found using his MLB position to promote the advertising campaign of a corporation that has been found by Federal U.S. Food Security Agents and California Authorities in violation of human safety regulations.

FARMER JOHN MEAT COMPANY FOUND IN VIOLATION BY U.S. AUTHORITIES:

    FOOD SAFETY VIOLATIONS:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS) took the following enforcement actions against Clougherty Packing Co, the parent company of the Brand known as “FARMER JOHN”, found to be the maker of the meat products marketed under the title “Bacon-wrapped Hot Dog”:

Vernon, CA- Clougherty Packing Co. – also known under the name the “Farmer John Meat Company” has received a Notice of Intended Enforcement for HACCP violations.

HAACP offenses of Farmer Johns the maker of the “Bacon-Wrapped HotDog” include violations of the American Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System, jeopardizing the lives of American citizens, including children.

FARMER JOHN PARENT CORPORATION GUILTY OF OSHA VIOLATIONS:

In addition to Claugherty being found pushing potentially unfit meat, the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) assessed Farmer John’s parent corporation Hormel Foods Corp. and their subsidiaries more than 80 safety violations which included severe fines.

One such violation by the organization involving Farmer John Meat company, proting its “Hot Dog” to be voted as the official hotdog of Los Angeles was of one such employee who had an appendage amputated, although it is undetermined if human tissue from the employee’s detached appendage made it into the meat supply shipped by the company to be eaten.

These events took place at Clougherty Packing Co, in California. Clougherty Packing Co. (aka Farmer John Meat Co.) owns a slaughterhouse in Vernon, CA.

There have been at least three incidents where workers lost fingers between 1987 and early 2004, according to OSHA records. One high profile incident exposed by SFGATE included a fully-cooked human finger found in meat products served to a meat buyer. One Los Angeles meat processor, Clougherty Packing Co., a.k.a. Farmer John, (promoter of said Bacon-wrapped HotDog) had 15 cases of lost human finger digits and other human appendages into its meat facilities during that time.

Farmer John’s parent companies Corcpork Inc. and Clougherty Co. received Waste Discharge Requirement violations and NPDES Permit Violations from the California State Water Resources Control Board for failure to submit waste discharge reports or submitting incomplete reports, for improper pig waste discharge into the greater Los Angeles area, potentially affecting Los Angeles families and children.

Andre Ethier has been found utilizing the MLB and their position in conflict of interest in order to advocate the private advertising campaign of the Farmer John corporation and cheering persons to “vote yes” in order to make the possibly contaminated and infected meat products by Farmer John, which has been found by U.S. Authorities to be in breach of nearly 80 violations of United States human safety codes, to become the “official” meat product of LA and be ingested by Los Angeles families and local children.
